The Usarufa Come for Supper

Tonight, we had 4 men, 2 women, and 3 children from the Usarufa language group over for supper. Our evening was filled with delicious food (thanks to Kara), fun, and fellowship through stories and laughter. We had a really good time with our Papua New Guinean friends.

There is always one thing that a person can expect when interacting with Papua New Guineans: the unexpected. We were planning our meal with the Usarufa and were planning on having 3 men, 1 woman, and 2 children. The night before, we were told that an extra woman and child were coming and then on the evening that they were supposed to come over, they had brought another man in from town, in order to talk with him. So what do you do when your dinner guest list keeps growing? Simply eat less and enjoy the company!
